Not. The pet stores around here, even the GOOD ones, aren't entered by
the workers or owner until about 5 to 10 minutes before opening time.
The good stores around here (besides being very scarce), take their
handfeeding babies home during closed hours. There is no reason for
anyone to be in there during that time. But none of them are closed for
18 hours at a shot, either.

These are both good ideas. Perhaps the owner isn't aware that the birds
need water overnight. I know MY birds DO sometimes drink and eat in the
dark (it's never totally dark in the birds' rooms). If the owner doesn't
listen, perhaps a club committee could try to gently talk some sense
into him.
