AC> without its drawbacks. I like MUSIC TRANSCRIPTION SYSTEM, MTS.EXE
Did you know that in French, the "MTS" acronym stands for "sexually
trasmitted disease" ? :)
 AC> (Shareware). Program + 8 help files + many songs, all on a 360 K 5 1/4
AC> disc, DOS, uncompressed. It can compose, play, edit & print FAST & EASY
There are zillions of shareware/freeware music programs around, but
they're all different. Do you want to export in midi format? do you
want to be able to have internal playback on your soundcard? what
soundcard do you have? GUS? SBPro? SB16? PAS? Roland? is printing
essential to you? is using classical notation essential to you? Do you
want to be able to play samples? use ADSR FM synthesis? use ADSR
samples? play vibrato, tremolo? stereo panning? how many notes at a
time? 4? 8? 16? 32? 64? more? Do you want to use VGA graphics? Or VGA
text that actually looks like graphics (but faster) ? Do you prefer
using the keyboard or the mouse? Low disk requirement is what, exactly?
1 meg? 360k? 5 megs?
Most programs I've seen don't use classical notation and don't care for
printing. I think I've seen one on some version of the SimTel or ZipNav
CD's, quite old, actually, CGA, maybe it's the same as yours. If I ever
make a tracker, I will incorporate classical notation and printing, but
don't expect it to be CGA.
