I haven't been following the developments around the new hardware and os's
for a couple of years now. Is there anything new? Or has it all died out...

Wow! You have been busy! I doubt the amiga floppies I have saved somewhere
in a box, are still readable... It must be more than 5 years since they
have seen some daylight! ;
