I disagree August!!
Nearly every sort of job today involves operating a computer to some
degree or another, and ANY person appling for a job is required to have
some sort of computer skill.
My company operates nearly every aspect of our business by computer, and
while I do not expect the people I hire to know how to operated in our
computer system, I DO expect them to be able to operated the terminal
and understand what is happening on the screen. Those who have NO
knowledge of computers and the BASIC skills are at a distinct
disadvantage to those who do.
Persons on SS and disabilities NEED access to machines to help them
learn those skills. No matter how fast, how much memory, or how big the
hard drive, a computer is skill a computer and an old 8088 can teach the
basics as well as a P166 can!
I donate my old equipment whenever I can! So should you!
