As a whole Linux in general regardless of distro is a far superior and a real
OS verus winslopper and macrapple (regardless of its roots in BSD land!).

The issue comes down to ease of use in doing stuff, and for me.. the vastly
INFERIOR RPM system is the litmus test that kills RH/Fedora/CentOS/SLES et al.

The other issue is RH publicly came out against Linux desktop users, then why
do all that work on a crappy X DE?

For ease of use in getting going and starting out, Debian based systems be it
Debian, Ubuntu, Mint, Zorin, KUbuntu all have the ease of use to sudo apt-get
install apache etc.. and move on in life, if you are doing LAMP stuff.

Even if you are doing something like Fido stuff, you can do it fairly easily
once some one else goes through the swamp fights the alligators and finds the
treasure to this with simple commands to install. Which I will gladly provide
the files and instructions to any one so they don't have to repeat that
endeavour! No one should have to to begin with!

Every one has their favorite distro... I prefer Debian based, but pure Debian
has too much screwed up due to that DFSG BS... and Ubuntu removes a lot of it,
ie sox with MP3 support in the repo etc..

I've pretty much banished any RH derived stuff except on a few cases where
CPanel is required/needed, I really don't understand why CPanel can't get their
act together for non RH distros?!?!???!

Simply choosing to use Linux of any sort has increased the security of that
system 100000x over to start with.

The CLI stuff, once the software is installed, is pretty much the same
regardless of distro, but its that software install that in general is still
Linux's Achilles Heel. But APT and those that use it are far and wide ahead of
that game v. RPM based systems.
