Yes, that is one of the things that frightens me about creating a large music collection on disk -- the possibility of data-loss. Theer simply isn't any clean backup method that will handle 50+ gig of disk. And no, 'tape' isn't the answer for me either, ever since I had *nine* backup tapes declared useless by a data-recovery service. Tape reliability is so low (IMHO) as to make the cost of the tapedrive a waste of money. You'd be better off building a separate machine to copy your data to.
