That is possible, but no that isn't what I am talking about.  I have a
small 486 that makes the connections and can login to that one from my
workstation where gpm is running into the little guy and from that console
cut or paste from the screen or a file and cut and paste into a different
console that is logged into the workstation (local) and either paste and/or
cut from there into a local file or just to the screen.  The monitor is
only connected to the workstation but from there I can do all sorts of
funky cutting and pasting to anywhere, such as a remote terminal based BBS
that could be anywhere in the world.  I used to freak out sysops in their
local chat thingies doing stuff like that.  Works excellent, since day one
too which was well over 10 years ago now.

Doesn't help to be fast if the remote isn't on a fast connection.  When you
come crabbing I'll give you a demo that will knock your socks off.  The
latest craze here is streaming audio and/or visual stuff over the wireless.
 Unreal!  Looks SUPER on a framebuffer console.

Our planned BBS is going to be capable of doing things like this, but first
my neighbour has to finish a custom antenna now that we've worked out the
basics.
