Oops. Thought I killed the briefer reply before it was sent for a more
elaborate one, but since you're replying to the briefer one and I don't
know if the longer one made it around:

3.x dropped the hot-flash menus option (especially nice in telnet
sessions). Could've learned to live without it, even though it was always
my personal favorite.

OS2 3.x doesn't support the same IPC directory mechanism as DOS 3.x and
both flavors of 2.x. This complicated both 2.x/3.x mixes as well as
DOS/OS2 mixes after a 3.x transition. My attempts to fold in named pipe
support (OS2 3.x) on the DOS+Netware platforms were fruitless, so I
sidelined 3.x rather than lose internode communications. I typically
telnet into the OS2 node from the office as necessary and status/chat the
DOS BBS node from the OS2 node's main menu options.
