I'm surprised about your friend having problems with BlueWave under
Windows XP - I've never had any (major) problems. Mind you, there
were, 3 different versions of the last BW released (2.30) - DOS
& DOS/386 & OS/2. I use the standard DOS version here without any
problems (except it can't handle really long messages - very rare with
FidoNet). Th OS/2 version could be a problem, butI would expect the
DOS/386 [protected-mode DOS] version to work fine. The issue may lie
elsewhere!

I am in Melbourne and if your friend is in my area of Australia I'd be
pleased to talk to her over the phone to help! I'm also on various
instant messaging systems (MSN, Yahoo!, AIM & ICQ) so we could
converse that way if she is not local to my phone area. If any of
these option work for her, send me an email at
dislexic_wobmat{at}yahoo.com and give me the relevant contact info.

On Win XP you can set an older program to operate in 'compatability
mode', but, in my experience my older Windows apps. seem to work OK in
'normal' XP mode.

I hope some of this info is of use to you.

        Rob.
