Interesting.  I'll have to pursue this angle.....

Turns out the dmake in the Max source code package is a dual mode DOS
(16-bit) and OS/2 (32 bit) executable...  At least it runs as a 32 bit OS/2
executable (while [from memory] documented as a DOS executable).

Interesting....

The source I have indecates that it is setup for unix based systems by
default, or at least that's what it looks like from default paths that are
used...

Now if I could get DMake to actually do something useful.  I must not have
something set right in the environment.
