Connie Newman sat down at the defendant's table Tuesday afternoon, the
fingers of her hands laced nervously in front of her as she waited to find
out her fate.

Moments later, the verdict was in -- 10 years probation for shooting and
killing her husband Corry Newman April 6, 2004.

"We're very pleased with the jury's decision," lead defense
counsel Rob Dunn
said. "It was obviously a tragedy for both families ... and the jury chose
not to compound the tragedy further by putting my client in the
penitentiary."
