Home Office, shared phone line:
Voice/Answeing machine
Voice
Voice Extensions
Fax
BBS/Modem
line automatic Sensing and Function Lockout Switch.
Is anyone interested in using a low cost pulse phone line for Voice answering
machine, voice calls, voice extension calls, Fax, and BBS or modem, and not
paying Bell or Baby Bell any extra fees for special rings, or having to buy
any special modems, or writing and special configs? If a voice call is
initiated, you can also XFer it to either the Fax or BBS device in the 1st 15
seconds via the rotory pulse or tone of the phone set, locally, or by caller,
remotley.
If a modem call is initialted for a voice call the voice line rings, and the
voice answer machine answers, then when no voice is spoken when prompted, the
line kicks over to the BBS on my Development line that you can call, and make
your own evaluation of all four modes.
If interested in make test calls, the number I've set the device on is 416
769-5178.
Page 18 of this manual indicates it also works on:
multi-line Key
PBX
Credi Card Authorization
Point of sale terminals
Loop-Start dial up TELIX
dictation machines
cordless telephones
CALLER ID Display
Be warned, Call Waiting, Call Forwarding, may impede performance or prevent
operations.
Their are about 10 different devices avalable, with the one currently under
test, being the top end in features and is the highest in cost. It lists at
$239 Canadian. I think thats just over $150 US. Other devices are under
$100 Canadian.
This unit basically locks out the other devices/ports when the 1st device is
in use, even if its the extension. If the extension is in use somewhere in
the house, it locks out the local hand set, voice anser, fax, and BBS/Modem
from accessing the line or dial tone. The others lower priced devices do not
have this lockout and some of the other features, nor can handle all the four
modes. Most other devices only do two modes.
It also allows callers to initiate a voice call, and use a two key code to
swich devices in the 1st 15 seconds. This is handy if you'd want to check
your voice mail 1st, then switch to the BBS to check your e-mail, or received
faxes if they arrive or are acessable on the BBS box.
I'll offer Special Pricing on this and other two mode per lines
sensor-automatic-switchs in a introductory offer shortly ;) if their is
enough interest.
Again, the test phone number for the pulse line test this week October 30 -
November 10th is 416 769-5178 if anyone is interested in testing all modes.
