| subject: | freebsd 5.0 doesnt understand P54C/amd k5 as I586_cpu? |
Hi, All!
i wanted to install freebsd 5.0R
have tryed disked and cdrom installation
one problem duaring boot:
both generic and i586_cpu kernels led to this
kernel panic: inthand_add
cant initialize ICU
rebooting in 5 secs...
my cpu is intel at 100Mhz
CPU: Pentium/P54C (99.95-MHz 586-class CPU)
Origin = "GenuineIntel" Id = 0x526 Stepping = 6
Features=0x1bf
real memory = 67108864 (65536K bytes)
i also tryed i133Mhz and amd k5 pr133 - same problem
But when i installed pentium mmx the problem gone. bootin was ok.
how should i fix such prob?
cvsup or maybe just (un)define some cpu option in kernel config?
dont want to compile kernel with just i386_cpu
wbr, Dmitry
