G'day all,
         I read a few of the messages here and thought some of you
might know the answer to this question...

   I used to have trouble with drop outs on a particular BBS (Not this
one ), which I could "kind of" solve by extending the ats10 string to
a value of 50 (5secs).  I bought a Hayes Accura Message Modem and :
   1. The Telix software comes up with an ERROR if I try to change
ATS10.
   2. I don't have the problem anymore !

   I was using an Avtek Flashmodem 28.8 previously, and it seems ok on
all but this 1 BBS ( which is running 2 x Maestros )

   I wonder if anyone out there can explain to me why the difference ?

Is the Hayes THAT much better ?

p.s. it goes to show , not all the stuff you find at Cash Convertors
is CRAP !   I got the Hayes Fax/ Data / Voice 28.8 for $250, as new,
in box !
