CR> Hmm, I don't think so. I'd say _Red_ is more accessible.
Possibly, yes. I certainly like _Red_ a lot better. :-)
It just seems that more casual fans of the band like that first
album best for some reason.

Yeah, it took me a few listenings, too. I love it, but probably not
quite as much as _Red_.
CR> My overall favorite Crimson album, probably because of the

Yup! Someday soon I'm going pick up the re-mastered versions of
_LTiA_ and _Red_ on CD. My vinyl copies have long since passed the
`best before' date! I know Fripp re-mastered virtually all the KC
albums in about 1989, but I haven't seen either of those two on the
shelves of my local stores lately. I also haven't seen re-mastered
versions of _Beat_ (1982), or _Three of a Perfect Pair_ (1984) on the
shelves here.
Anyway, what was your impression of _Thrak_ (1994)? It's taken me a
while to get into that one as well. That seems to happen to me with
many of KC's albums. There are parts of it that I loved immediately.
For instance, the Mellotron parts really add a wonderful texture to the
album and harken back to the early 70s era KC sound. At first though,
the album didn't quite seem to work for me as a whole. However, I've
had it for a little over a year now and it seems that ... well, the
more I listen to it - the more I like it!
Cheers,
Martin
