I appreciated Ventura's ability to do indices and TOCs. Word Perfect was also very
good at them at the time. I actually remember doing a training on indexing
for WPDOS. People came up after and said they were amazed it was so easy.

Sidebars were where Ventura shined though. You didn't have to play with
column widths at all. You created the sidebar the way you wanted it, then
inserted it into
the place you wanted. GEM was pretty cool for that, actually.
