I prefer not to sell to pet stores. I just sold $100 worth of tiels to a very
nice store and after she paid me cash, she'd turned around and left a message
on my machine that I was to return for the birds as they were sick. I live 35
+
miles away. I didn't even check the machine til 2 days later I was so busy. i
never thought to as I'd had no problems with those babies. They weren't sick
and I do not sell sick birds. I shut things down if I suspect illness. They
are
very hyper 6 w/o tiels that are already flying. So we had to go back to towm
to
get them and return her money. She had already put them on antibiotics
(Baytril) without seeing a vet. Now I can't culture them as it would be
inaccurate. One is sneezing but not a wet sneeze. It is a dry sneeze as
hough
he had aspirated a small bit of handfeeding mix or something. It is always
possible that i overlooked something or even the stress of having to go out
in the heat to go to the store stressed him out enough to be succeptible, but
I'd
opt that some food went up his nose.
So now I have to risk my birds by bringing these back to the house after
they've been in a store.
I like to match up pets with nice people, but there seem to be too few of
them, and too many babies. This year I've had 9 macaws and 3 minis (4
actually, but one died). Also conures, tiels, budgies, parrotlets, and amazons.
Thanks for the reply!
Barbara
