If you are primarily roaming, your AT&T digital phone is probably
working in analog mode most of the time anyway, so there's probably no
advantage to using their hybrid digital/analog phone anyway.
You didn't say where you do most of your romaing, but if it's in the
Northeast, I'd recommend getting a Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile plan. If
your company participates in a corporate plan, you can get basic access
for only $10.95 per month, with local airtime at .36 and .16 for peak
and off peak. Roaming in most of the Northeast, from DC to Maine to Erie
to Ashland, KY (and parts of the Carolina) is only .59 cents, and 99
cents everywhere else. That's a pretty good rate.
You could also go with Sprint's new PCS, where roaming is only .60 cents
across the country, but service is only available in a few places.
