Actually, that's not "behind the iron curtain." Cuy has been a
staple protein source in the Andes since memory runneth not
otherwise. There are recipes for which some of the ingredients have
been extinct for centuries... Very efficient since, like most
rodents, they can eat almost anything organic and turn it into more-
or-less edible form. Like quinoa and sweet potatoes and Mate',
staples of the high mountains. A little odd by our tastes but not
bad, just takes a little adjusting.

Screw that; where I'm gonna be they'll be totally at a loss and
operating illegally (not that that'll stop them but it'll make it
harder to call the locals for help....) Gummint types have a sort of
rigidity of mind that makes them easy to spot... like the DEA types
who infiltrated Terlingua and were caught out within seconds.
