You will never know unless you actually try it on a star.  Polaris is a
good subject as you can build a cheap fixed mount for the lens and see what
the results are for the Ronchi or knife edge test. Even the south pole has
several stars that are bright enough to do a test of that kind without
having to make a full mount to track the sky. Bob May
