Hi Jay P Hailey, hope you are having a nice day >> Yep. Juno hasn't let me back online in nearly a year. >>And as you can see below I do most of my participating here >>still thru FidoNet. JPH>Juno SUUUCCCKKKSS That's... One way to put it. JPH>I had a bad install and can't unwedge it out of my system. This box is still using v1.49 which if nothing else means I won't be catching anything nasty. Ofc the fact that it runs dos 6.22/w3.1 kinda limits thing too. The laptop though has both 1.49 and v4.x, no way I'll let it go to v5 or up and even then I use 1.49 most of the time. v4 only gets used if a file attachment is involved and then only after I poll the acct w/ v1.49. You might try reinstalling an older version over the top of the bad one and then removing it by using the install/uninstall sw option in the control panel. If it's v4 I can tell you what to dump from the registry too. JPH>But sometimes Outhouse express crashes the same way I need to find the install for eudora pro v4.something. My laptop came w/ that installed but one the main helpfile is missing and second once I get the install for a couple of other programs I'll be wiping the drive and reinstalling '98 in hopes of fixing what ever it was real audio destroyed wrt inet xfer rates. You know something's wrong when you go from regular 53k connects and xfer rates of zipped files of 5-9kbyte/sec down to the occasion max of 43k connect w/ only a 750byte/sec xfer of the same stuff. :< 'Fore juno cut me out I put v4 on this box on the '95 hd and the 28.8 in it was doing xfers of 4kbyte sec. Not good when you're trying to get directx 8.0a or the java sdk. -=> Yours sincerely, Paul Williams <=- ... "Looks like it's Klingon Rollerball time...
