Microsoft has no proprietary stake in CP/M.  At the time, it was owned by 
Digital Research (later Caldera).

???  Why is this a problem?  It's just the way it is.  CP/M BIOS 
implementations used deblocking to translate between physical sectors and CP/M 
records (128 byte blocks).
