minor correction... the alt.* groups are unmoderated... the others should
be and their charters should also be publically available with all
pertenient info...

another major difference between usenet and fidonet is that in fidonet,
moderating is reactive (moderators can only react after an infraction)
whereas on usenet, moderating is proactive (the moderators get the news
posting and approve or disapprove it. if approved, they forward it into the
newsgroup)...
