Depends on the version! I can see 35 characters on screen. And, when replying, I get to see 70. Let's see what happens to my header, which I took to the max! I just when to edit this and here's what I saw: Subject: 1--> 35 -> 70 The 1 is the first charcacter. The 5 in 35 should be the 35th. And, the 0 in 70 should be the 70th.
