Actually, as you get things wet, the plywood will quickly deform.  In
addition, it just isn't that rigid to begin with so your hand pressure will
be deforming the plywood to the point at which you can measure it with a
spherometer and that is way too much deformation.  Stacking layers of
plywood only makes the water content and temp changes more sensitive while
the pressure changes are indeed reduced. Glass and stone products are a lot
more rigid with temp and pressure than is plywood and don't have the
moisture problem in addition. Bob May
