About 6 years ago just before I started a BBS of my own, I made a 1-800 call
from Canada to the States. The number reached a company in Texas. I was
absolutely astonished on how crystal clear the connection was; the person
sounded like they were on extension phone in my house. Other local calls
within my city were never ever as clear. Apparently the 1-800 company said
that they were with AT&T.
