I'm cynical about Big Business's "committment" to improved K-12 education
for reasons far beyond whether some company will "invest" a few thousand
dollars in computers for some elementary school. I just see no committment
being shown to hire educated workers when these companies move manufacturing
to very-low-literacy nations, and I think teachers are being played for fools
if they believe the Fortune 500 really cares about education reform.
