The main problem is this...
I am the sysop of the BBS this message is being posted from.  I wouldn't want
to float the expense of an echo area that was only ads.  What am I going to 
get out of it, other than a bloated phone bill?  Why would I want to pay
my hard earned $$, from my own pocket, to allow others to use the messages
to promote their  scams?
Even if they are posting legit offers, why should I as a sysop pay for it?
See the dilemma ?
