I have chatted with one of the guys in charge of this > bank, and he reckons that the bank is connected to the exchange with ISDN > lines. I get 33.6k connects 95% of the time to Jabberwocky.... If they were connnected to the exchange by ISDN, then they wouldn't need a rack of modems at all, callers would be logging on via a rack of Telstra modems in the exchange (which is exactly what my current ISP does - not a modem to be seen in the place, with the exchange literally next door). I expect that it's their connection to the internet that's via ISDN, and the rack of modems is what you're connecting with, via ordinary analogue lines.
