To most of you, the following is a moot point, but some
will be glad to see it is official...

The ITU-T WTSC approved the ammendments to V.34. The amendments
include the data rates to 33.6 Kbps. They also include the error
recovery procedures for fax which were already standardized in T.30
Annex F. WTSC approval requires no follow up ballot. Therefore this
approval is official and complete.

For a specific reference document for this approval, one may
refer to:
WTSC document number 107 (15 October 96) contains the report of
Committee 5 which agreed V.34 subject to Plenary approval (which was
given). Section 4.4 of Document 107 lists all of the Recommendations
that were revised including V.34. ( Draft revised Recommendations
  V.11, V.18, V.24, V.25, V.25bis, V.34, V.38, V.42, V.110 and V.120
were endorsed for approval by the Plenary. )

Also, the designation of "Recommendation V.34" remains... the
name "V.34" has not been changed.

regards, kiwin
