Hi Matt,
We were discussing attitude and school:

Well, I guess that I am talking school in general while you are talking
subjects. Also, I teach K-8 and mainly K-6 and you are talking gr. 7 up
- possibly high school.
Attitude to school has to be developed in the early years and then
maintained. This is where the teacher plays a big part especially the
student who comes in disliking school or where school is down played at
home. You can still enjoy school even if you dislike the teacher or the
subject - though maybe not at that point in time ;)

And some students won't change their attitude even if their parents are
school supportive, etc. Everyone has a part of play, wouldn't you say?
For some nothing you do or say will help but for the majority, or so I
like to believe, even a little act/word makes a big difference.
