subject: Blaming it on Bush

Hello Matt,

MM>Here's an opinion piece by Chuck Green who writes "Greener Pastures"
MM>for the Denver Post Aurora Sentinel...one of the more liberal papers
MM>in the country.

I'm not so sure any newspaper is "liberal" or "conservative", as
it is writers who write articles and opinion pieces, never newspapers
themselves (newspapers are objects, not people). The Wall Street
Journal is known for its "conservative" slant. The Huffington Post
is known for its "liberal" slant. And so on. But in every newspaper
one can usually find articles and opinion pieces written by both
liberal and conservative commentators, along with other viewpoints
being expressed.

MM>Additionally, Mr. Green is a lifelong Democrat...so this is rather a
MM>stunning piece...

E.J. Dionne is known for his liberal slant, and he has often
written in support of Democratic Party ideals, but what his actual
party affiliation is I have absolutely no idea. The same is true
of other writers, regardless of viewpoint expressed. It may be
that Chuck Green has given you and others the impression that he
is a lifelong Democrat. But the truth of the matter may be something
far different.

MM>Obama is victim of Bush's failed promises!

Obama is a victim of his own failed promises, perhaps. But much
of that depends on how the USSC rules on his Affordable Health Care
Act (Obamacare). After all, George W. Bush promised to get Osama
bin Laden (and failed), while Barack Obama promised and made sure
Osama bin Laden was a dead man.

MM>Barack Obama is setting a record-setting number of records during
MM>his first term in office:

MM>Largest budget ever. Largest deficit ever. Largest number of broken
MM>promises ever.

Gotta spend money to make money. Preferably other people's money.
That is the ticket for success.

MM>Most self-serving speeches ever.

Won him the Nobel Peace Prize.

MM>Largest number of agenda-setting failures ever.

President Obama jump-started the economy, preventing another
Great Depression. President Obama passed the Affordable Health
Care Act, making it possible for all Americans to be insured.
President Obama promised, and delivered, Osama bin Laden's head
on a platter, then dumped ObL's body into the sea for the fishes
to feast on.

MM>Fastest dive in popularity ever!

Our greatest president ever, his popularity in the upper
stratosphere among women, and not to shabby with men.

MM>Wow! Talk about change.

Change for the better.

MM>Just over two years ago, fresh from his inauguration celebrations,
MM>President Obama was flying high.

Chuck Green wrote this piece right after the 2010 congressional
elections, when the president's party got a "shellacking" (as Obama
put it). Since then, President Obama has been on a roll. The killing
of Osama bin Laden is the event that most Americans remember, and what
I would call the turning point for President Obama and the Democrats.

MM>After one of the nation's most inspiring political campaigns, the
MM>election of America 's first black president had captured the hopes
MM>and dreams of millions. To his devout followers, it was inconceivable
MM>that a year later his administration would be gripped in self-imposed
MM>crisis.

The Mitt Romney camp is the one in crisis, not the Barack Obama camp. :)

MM>Of course, they don't see it as self-imposed. It's all George Bush's
MM>fault !

George W. Bush did cause quite a mess. But not to worry.
President Obama will fix it. As he has for the past three
and half years. :)

MM>George Bush, who doesn't have a vote in congress and who no longer
MM>occupies The White House, is to blame for it all.

True. But again, not to worry. President Obama will fix it.

MM>Will President Obama ever accept responsibility for something /
MM>anything?

When Barack Obama was campaigning for president, he *promised* he would
kill Osama bin Laden. Not just bring Osama bin Laden to justice, but
actually kill him. And that is one campaign promise Barack Obama kept
as President of the United States.

To this very day, Republicans remain jealous, and demand a rematch.
But they'd best remember -
President Obama is armed and dangerous, a Nerf ball in his hand...

MM>It's Bush's Fault!

Yes, it is!
