| subject: | Re: Modem connect speed |
MR>> USR based modems are able to set a maximum and minimum connect MR>> speed and I want to know if Rockwell based modems have the same MR>> capability secretly hidden. AA> Depends on the modem's firmware. Netcomm modems are Rockwell based (but AA> the AA> firmware isn't). They can be told to connect at a certain speed. Whether they DO or not is a different Story. Mark Griffith here in Bris has a courier that is proven to connect at 33600 on his line and is wanting to connect at 33600 to a bank of Rackmounted Netcomms at HIS;-) university but no way. Seems Netcomm knows better and WILL NOT BE TOLD to connect at 33600 to a Courier.
