subject: Introduction for compilation

Hello Kai.

16 Aug 04 17:57, you wrote to me:

KR>>> If possible, get the -stable versions.

KR> I dont know, i downloaded them via the files section of the homepage.

I figure it is easier via CVS ...

Will do ...

KR> Basic for husky software is the smapi (squish msg api). Tosser,

KR> and tools use the smapi to work with the messages. Check the smapi/

KR> At this point i was not very nice to you, you can try to compile
KR> smapi, but it will not work. ;-) Check the smapi/VERSION file to find

KR> After reading that docs (about 25k), you know how to compile all other
KR> husky modules and where to look first in case of trouble.

KR> If possible you should clean up you current installations with a "make
KR> distclean" or "make uninstal" of all modules first.
If that does not
KR> work you can delete the files of the husky software by hand.

Have read most of these, and am still stuck with MsgEd, tho I have now gotten
Fastlst to compile.

Will read further, might find a suggestion which helps.

Thanks,

Russell
