The OS/2 and Windows (and now Linux) versions are already native 32-bit
executables, but the maximum buffer size is still fixed at 256 Kb for
those. I suspect this
is just a case of Scott Dudley thinking "256 Kb should be enough for
anybody", which is true for the most part, except for a couple of huge
messages (with embedded HTML) in TREK_HUMOR_FILK that are being gated from
a YahooGroups mailing list that were presumably written by people who don't
know any better.
