actually the answer to this is "it depends"... mainly on the poster's settings
if their post or pics are "public" or if they are restricted... when i was
there posting security related announcements and information, i posted all of
those public... other posts were restricted to "friends"... some were allowed
to be viewed by "friends and friends of friends"...

at least they aren't demanding you verify your identity... that's one of the
main reasons i left... that plus it was mostly wasted time... i gained at least
6 hours a day when i quite FB...
