Hey Nicholas!
NB> OSMC (Open Source Media Centre)
I've heard of it but never checked it out. I have mplayer on the atom working
on the console and it hardly ever gets any use. The most I use it is for
streaming an online radio station and that is straight audio.
NB> I may just go with that for simplicity's sake
Makes sense to me given the current situation with arm. I thought I had a 64
bit kernel for the raspi3 but it crashed hard in a qemu-system-aarch64
enviroment on a x86_64 host and I am guessing it would act the same on a real
raspi3.
On the plus side, I am seeing quite a few targets in arm64 kernel source
(v4.8.6 as we speak) including bcm2837 so I think there is hope for the
immediate future. I haven't given up ... yet. ;-)
Life is good,
Maurice
