There's an effort going on right now to split comp.os.geos into two
newsgroups: comp.os.geos.misc & comp.os.geos.programmer. This is because
there has been a lot of programming discussion going on. These names
were chosen because they fit into standard usenet naming.
comp.os.msdos.pcgeos will be removed. The purpose of this is to have a
general programming discussion area and to isolate it from those that
don't care about programming.
In about 2 weeks there is going to be a Call For Votes (CFV) for this
proposal. To get a newsgroup, you need at least a 2:1 yes:no ratio and
you also need at least 100 more yes votes than no votes.
When the voting starts, I'll post details. If you have internet access
make sure to send in a yes vote. I'm pretty sure it'll be an email
voting, not posting to a newsgroup.
