PNT0002 is the pointlist in Z2 format, that is because this is the only
format that is available world-wirde. Other formats are mostly only known
in one or some regions. Unfortunately the Z2 pointlist keeper is not very
reliabel.
PNT0002 expects PNT0002.ZIP. In that zip R24PNT.??? is the expected list.
And the file echo R24PNT_D is connected with the diff files. The POINTS24
format that is common in R24 must not be included in that zip file, it
doesn't work. Pointlists became very uncommon in Fidonet, it's rarely
supported. And because most nodes don't have a Z2 pointlist, the FPD
requests it at one German system that I know that it has these. But only
the German points are included, so it's not of much use for you.
At the moment (and for the future either) there seems no good solution for
a pointlist that works for everyone. The node might tell the point how to
get the pointlist (and maybe connects him to the appropriate file echo) and
tells him what to change in the config files (that is fastlst.cfg).
NODETEXT expects nodehtm.zip - there can be one or more files in the zip
file, but no sub-directories. There you can put infos for the point about
yourself and your system or about whatever you like. It is displayed when
the point clicks on "Info, ..." in the main menu and then
"Node-Info". The index file is node.htm - so this is the one file
that at least must be in the zip file. Additionally other htm, html or jpg
files can be included and linked. But not too complex html files, it's just
a simple html viewer I implemented for the FPD.

I haven't tried him, because he has no IP line.

The same.

I only tried 341/200 and then 2:342, 2:243, ..., 2:246 several nodes having
an IP line. I didn't look too close to what region they were from, just
opened the nodelist in Golded and tried one, then the next and the next.

Yes, I think these are the same common magics in R24. And ECHOLIST I think,
but I'm not too sure about it. It's quite a long time ago that I needed it,
always got the area list from a file echo from my node and during the
recent years I had my favorite echos...
ADM> The descriptions are in Spanish but I think you don't need translation,
I can understand the Spanish text, I put together my German+English+French
knowledge plus the very few Spanish words I know and then most words are
nearly the same to one of the languages I know or a combination that I can
guess. That's why I like spanish. If I will learn another language, it
would be Spanish.
Ok, so what do you suggest how I can get a list of available mail echos
from non-CDP nodes? Should the node give the zip file or text file (*.txt
or *.lst) to the point and in FPD the user selects the file himself for
import. Or is the a better, more automatic way? Because there is no
standard of a request magic it's difficult. I will look around how other
point programs handle this.
