Looks like what seems to be the most supported and easiest to setup (listed on
raspberrypi.org) is OSMC (Open Source Media Centre). Looks like it's based on
Debian and Kodi (which was formerly XBMC - XBox Media Center).

I may just go with that for simplicity's sake, rather than installing a
separate OS and running a 3rd party app for the media center. At the moment I'm
just running Plex on my main Windows machine, which isn't ever up 24/7. So
simplifying things and running another Pi is likely my choice for the future.
