I've been running Synchronet (in Windows) since 2007, I have a pretty long list of favorites. Since I started BBSing and sysoping back in the early 80s on the Apple // side of things, there have been many systems that stood out. One of the first on the PC side of the house that will always be held near and dear is WWIV. To me, WWIV started many other favorites and one of the main reason I went with it back then was the ability to have the complete source code once registered. You can turn it into just about anything you can imagine once you learned how to code. That being said, I still run a highly modded classic WWIV system and always will. There are several other BBS packages that I really like. Mystic would have to be top of my list if I was starting out and wasn't running my classic WWIV. I have even considered running a second BBS using it and still might. So here is a list of some of my favorites: WWIV, Mystic, Renegade, Oblivion/2, Vision/2, Celerity, Forum, Iniquity, and Synchronet. - Mark --- WWIVToss v.1.51* Origin: http://www.weather-station.org * Bel Air, MD -USA (1:261/1304.0) SEEN-BY: 14/5 18/200 19/33 34/999 90/1 116/18 120/331 123/500 128/187 140/1 SEEN-BY: 218/700 222/2 230/150 240/1120 249/303 261/38 100 266/404 267/155 SEEN-BY: 280/1027 282/1056 292/907 908 320/119 219 340/400 393/68 396/45 SEEN-BY: 633/267 280 640/384 712/620 848 770/1 801/161 189 2320/105 303 @PATH: 261/1304 1 266/512 140/1 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
