Sports on TV these days, also overhere, are too much about business and too
little about competing.
 
Soccer is wildly popular in Europe so a while ago UEFA (the main soccer
federation on European level) invented the "Champions League"
where so much money is involved and so much interests are at stake that it
has been organised in such a way that in the long-run a handfull of big
teams always win while smaller teams get breadcrums.
 
I'm so disgusted by it that merely hearing the opening tune gives me a rash
and makes me switch channels, if I would be watching TV at all.
 
Same with cycling, also very popular here but probably the most doped sport
in the world, and I'm not just talking Landis or Armstrong.
 
Guys with huge thighs stomping a bike up a mountain, a no brainer, wow ...
what an achievement.
