...will always be a bullshit operating system:

    $ echo "Hello world" > hello.text
    $ ls -l hello.txt
    -rw-r--r--  1 amcleod  anjo  6 Aug 13 15:27 hello.text
    chown freddy hello.text
    chown: hello.text: Operation not permitted
    $ man chown

    CHOWN(8)            FreeBSD System Manager's Manual           CHOWN(8)

    NAME
        chown - change file owner and group
    .   .   .
    The ownership of a file may only be altered by a super-user for obvious
    security reasons.

What rubbish! So the OWNER of the file is not allowed to give it to someone
else? WTF is write permissions for if not to decide who can modify the file,
such as changing ownership?
