| subject: | ATM Robo-Foucault, A Fresh Start! |
From: "James Lerch" To: "ATM List" Cc: Reply-To: "James Lerch" Greetings All, Previous attempts at quantifying Robo-Foucault's degree of accuracy have been unsuccessful. It is at this point that I shall implement a "Fresh Start", no longer commenting on previous efforts. Towards this goal I'd like input from the list on the following plan of action. #1 I'm going to scrounge together four mirrors from 6" - 16" in diameter, over a range of F-ratios from F/4.5 to F/8. #2 I'm going to test these 4 mirrors across 3 diameters using Robo-Foucault #3 I'm going to submit the test results to an independent 3rd party for concealment until all test results have been received. (Any volunteers???) #4 I'm going to ship the 4 mirrors out for interferometric testing at my own expense (Any recommendations or suggestions on who may be interested and capable of doing this?) #5 The interferometer results will be sent directly to our independent 3rd party. #6 Our 3rd party will summarize the results and present the details to the list for discussion. The purpose of this exercise is to quickly, accurately, and publicly quantify Robo-Foucault capabilities. Does my plan of action seem reasonable?
