From what I've read, they're toying with the idea of not going with a 64bit OS
for the Pi3 mainly due to it only having 1gb memory. Apparantly it doesn't make
it all that appealing. However, I seemed to have stumbled across something that
looks like it may be testworthy. :)
So for only having the Pi3 for a couple hours, I've successfully installed the
Archlinux ARM 32bit OS on it. I have found the AArch64 version as well (the
installation instructions point you to:
http://archlinuxarm.org/os/ArchLinuxARM-rpi-2-latest.tar.gz
..but if you actually go to the physical location, there is:
http://archlinuxarm.org/os/ArchLinuxARM-aarch64-latest.tar.gz
..sitting in there as well! So I snagged it and will just try the exact same
instructions as listed for the 32bit version seeing as though there is no 64bit
instructions. Stay tuned..
Regards,
Nick
