DJ>Most "electronic payments," including Intuit's system, really aren't.
DJ>That is, you make an electronic payment to Intuit or some other
DJ>company, but they then send out a paper check to pay your various
DJ>bills.
DJ>I do have true electronic payment of both my mortgage and my
DJ>automobile payment. I'll happily use electronic payments which don't
DJ>involve a third party.
Checkfree Corp. (who I've employed for almost 3yrs) pays via
electronic means or paper, whichever the payee can handle with least
resistance. IOW; my home mortgage is credited electronically (amongst a
rapidly growing number of others), but less sophisticated concerns get a
snail mailed paper check. Obviously some are (what you term) "true"
electronic payments and others are not.
AFAIK, one must employ a 3rd party to cover all the bases (so to
speak). IMHO, $10/mo (about the cost of a delivered pizza, eh?) gives a
Checkfree subscriber a lot of bang for the buck.
