RW> ml> 2. the driver's door speaker doesn't work but the front passenger
RW> ml> door speaker does as well as those in the rear deck area...
RW> ml> any ideas
RW> ml> on where to look first?? is the door panel easy to remove?
RW> ml> what about
RW> ml> getting at the wiring under the dash and behind the console?
RW>
RW> There are covered cables that run from the kick panel area to/thru the
RW> door. Could be a broken wire, as that cable is flexed everytime you open
RW> and close the door. At the back of the radio all of the speaker and power
RW> wires are in a connector that plugs into the radio. I don't think you'll
RW> find a problem there unless a 'butcher' has been working on the stereo
RW> system.
JG> Unless the car was purchased brand new from a dealer, I'd
JG> almost bet it's radio has been butchered.

not so in this case... this was a corporate lease vehicle for management
types... my BIL drove it for his job... my mother got it about a year
before she lost her battle with pancreatic cancer... then i got it... it is
in pristine condition with a couple of relatively minor problems...

i've not gone under the dash or popped the door panel(s)...
