is such a thing) would easily be five times that cost.

For sure. 8 cores is nice but 384 is a tad much especially given the target(s)
- raspberry pi and the like. Speaking for myself, if the cross compiler on the
current host machine I am using works out then even the 8 core Gigabyte is
unneeded. However I won't truly know until it boots on a real arm64 and
successfully builds the first aarch64 using the toolchain I am currently
picking away at as we speak.
