You sound like you know what your on about wonder if you can help me out here.

What do you think of this.

In my control panel -> system ->device manager I have the PORTS branch
under this is listed the ports on my computer:
 com1
 com2
 lpt1

Back in control panel, I have the modems icon, clicking on this brings a
window, where I can click on modem properties to set what com port to connect
the modem to, so under this I have:
 com1
 com2
 com2
ie, there are 'two' com2 ports listed just like that while the device manager
reckons theres only one.

This has been driving me daisy, I have removed modem, com2 port that I can,
reinstalled everything, rung supplier, got answers like is the comp turned on.
Got a number for modem tech support, where a very nice, indian accented
fellow, nodded to all my complaints but failed to come up with much
appart from telling me to install bitware bitcom for windows, or bring
the system in.

Um, has anyone else heard of this?
