Heard from a Catholic deacon:

A Catholic man died and went to Heaven, and was talking to God. 
"God," he said, "I'm really concerned about the shortage of
priests."

"So am I," said God.  "Any suggestions?"

The man thought, and finally said, "Well, how about women? Could
we allow women into the priesthood?"

God said, "Not in this Pope's lifetime."

"Hmm." So the man thought some more. "Well, how about marriage? 
Could we let priests get married?"

God said, "Not in this Pope's lifetime."

So the man thought some more, but couldn't come up with any more
ideas. In frustration, he burst out, "Are we going to have
another Pope like this?"

God said, "Not in My lifetime."
